TRIVENI Saarvajanik Ganeshotsav
"गणपती बाप्पा मोरया ........."!
Namaskar Mandali,
Ganesh Chaturthi is a long running Maharashtrian tradition since the time of Chhatrapati Shivaji and the Peshwas. In 1893, Lokmanya Tilak instituted the public celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi with the objective of enhancing the sense of belongingness as well as togetherness in the community. As a national festival now, Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated by all Indians in the private comforts of their home as well as the public cacophony of sarvajanik Ganeshotsavs. Triveni’s Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav will be celebrated on Sunday, September 11th, 2016 at the Hindu Temple of Great Cincinnati. As is our tradition, Triveni Mitra Mandal will be sponsoring this event and will be relying on our army of Triveni volunteers to make this year’s event a grand success - we expect a large turnout of over 800 devotees this year. As usual, our event plan includes Miravnook, Lezim, Pooja/Aarti and Prasad jevan. Please visit the Triveni Ganeshotsav volunteer webpages (see links below) to sign up for the various volunteering options including Lezim, Prasad preparation, serving and cleanup.
